Laurie Brewer, DVM, Phd

Dr. Brewer grew up and resides in southern York County, and is excited and proud to be a part of this vital new service to the community.

She attended the University of Minnesota, receiving a Ph.D. in molecular virology in 2004 and a doctorate in veterinary medicine in 2006. After moving to Maine, she developed a particular interest in sled dog medicine, working numerous times as a trail veterinarian for the Can-Am Crown International Sled Dog Race, a qualifying event for the famed Iditarod.

The unique challenges and rewards of providing emergent care for our animal companions both in the clinic and in the field attracts her to this aspect of veterinary medicine, which she has practiced exclusively since 2008.
