Madeline R. Giner

Hello! I am a second year Ph.D. student at the University of Georgia working in the laboratory of Dr. Xiaorong Lin. I graduated with my B.Sc. in Microbiology & Immunology with a minor in Environmental Science at the University of Texas at San Antonio. During my time as an undergrad, I was active in research during the academic years in Dr. Soo Chan Lee's lab, and during the summer, I had the privilege of participating in 2 REUs and 1 NIH/NIBIB internship. I have fallen in love with research in the microbiology field, especially medical mycology and parasitology. After finishing graduate school, I plan to find a postdoc position to then integrate into government or industry as a principle scientist/investigator.
