Square Enix Details What Summers Will Be Like in Farm Sim Game Harvestella

Square Enix's newest in-depth take a gander at upcoming farming simulation RPG Harvestella flaunts everything players can expect from the game's Mid year season. Since its reveal during this June's Nintendo Direct, Square Enix has given fans plenty of reasons to be excited about the brand-new IP. The game features a blend of farming simulation in with RPG adventure gameplay featuring real-time combat and magic. The Nintendo Direct earlier this month also saw a demo available for players to try out the game. Presently, Square-Enix is showing off Harvestella's more tropical side.

The newest Harvestella blog entry from Square Enix introduces players to the village of Shatolla, a quaint seaside town that largely spins around fishing. The post provides players with a preview of several characters they will meet in Shatolla, including the town's diva singer Emotional and the eccentric inventor Heine. While in Shatolla, players will be tasked with investigating a mysterious peculiarity creating giant air pockets around the sea called "Summer Bulla" as well as rumors of the sea witch, Lorelei.

Players will be able to grow a variety of new produce in their farm during the late spring, as well as changing key elements of the farming experience. The post introduces several new crops including the Shatollan Paprika and Seatide Garlic, as well as new cooking dishes like the Fisherman's Sandwich and Hop Juice. New farming biomes are also introduced in the post with the Waterside and Cave biomes flaunted, lending themselves to sweet crops and flavors respectively. Players will also be able to assemble pens on their homestead allowing them to keep livestock on their farm.

Along with the plethora of new farming mechanics, Square Enix's profound plunge into Harvestella introduces two new positions players will be able to open, likely tied to the main characters in Shatolla. The Mechanic occupation succeeds at physical attacks against adversaries with various abilities that weaken opponents. The musical Woglinde work acts as a more support-oriented class with an emphasis on using magic to buff your team. Both positions will also have access to charged attacks, as well as extra abilities players can obtain by spending position points.

Harvestella's early November launch date will place the game at the start of a jam-packed November with several high-profile releases. November will feature multiple major Switch games between the port of the generally acclaimed It Takes Two alongside one of Nintendo's biggest franchises in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Several major multi-platform games are also slated to launch during November with games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Sonic Frontiers arriving throughout the month. Harvestella will hope to capture both farming simulation fans and Square-Enix fans when it launches in November.
