Biologist with an inquisitiveness about the nature of consciousness, and its interaction with living systems
I was academically trained in molecular parasitology, completing my PhD in 2009 at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. I have since become interested in the philosophy of science, and in particular the nature of mind and consciousness. Questions such as how a single celled embryo develops into a multicellular organisms keep me up at night. I am investigating the potential role of consciousness in generating information content that can interact with, and indeed direct physiological processes.
